Keep in mind: On average, recruiters only spend 43 seconds reading resumes. Less than one minute to make it clear that you are the ideal candidate. Therefore, if you want to write a professional bus driver resume, you should pay attention to a clear structure that emphasizes the most important points.

Of course, there are other types of resumes, such as a written resume or a handwritten resume. However, in most filing situations, a tabular summary should be written — this is the most common format and provides the most clarity for a modern resume.

Once the structure is in place, take care of the formatting. Important: List your professional experience and education on your resume in reverse chronological order — i.e. last or current station first! Thus, the recruiter will be able to understand at a glance what is important.

To design the perfect resume layout, you should also keep the following in mind:

  • Make sure the individual sections are separated from each other. Make use of the space on your paper — set margins of 2cm top and bottom and 2.5cm left and right. Large and bold headings also provide clarity.
  • When writing a resume, choose a modern and not overly ornate font. These include, for example, Calibri, Arial or Times New Roman. The font size of the resume should be 12 and the line spacing should be 1.15.
  • At the very beginning, indicate your contact details or personal details — your name is required, as well as a current phone number and email address.
  • Your address, marital status, date and place of birth, nationality, and photograph are optional but sometimes welcome.
  • Save your resume as a PDF and attach it to your email application. This file format is also the best if you want to apply online.
  • Ask a second person to read your CV — it helps a lot to catch mistakes you miss while writing. They may also have resume ideas and suggestions that you can implement.

If these key points are correct, you can proceed directly to the most important part of your resume: your professional experience!
